What is the most popular fad in China right now? Is it a good fad or a bad fad?

The most 'fad' thing that I've noticed, since coming to China, is the wearing of glasses frames. Frames without any lenses fitted!
This perplexes me! Where I come from, the wearing of glasses isn't seen as being particularly fashionable and of course, many people wear contact lenses, usually because they don't like to be seen wearing a pair of glasses.

hahahahahaha~cuz those trend-setters in Japan like to wear no-lenses glasses to cover the shadows under their eyes and normal thick glasses will make them less attractive.hence~it becomes a fad among ordinary people.......i guess.............

Thank you for the explanation Cara.
I still can't help thinking that there's a simpler way to hide 'dark eyes'.
I used to need my sunglasses on 'the morning after the night before'. The darker the lenses, the better! (But I never wear them after dark or indoors. I'm not 'cool' enough to do that!)

Seems like 3G is a big fad right now. You're not cool until you have 3G!
